History

Bernet Farms was originally established in 1927 when my great-grandfather, Rudolf Bernet and his brother Hans went into a partnership and began dairy farming in Woodland Washington.  They had immigrated to Tillamook, Oregon from Grindelwald, Switzerland in 1922 and moved to Woodland after my grandfather, Fred Bernet, was born.  They dairied in Woodland until a farm across the river in Scappoose came up for sale.  Bernet Farms has been in its current location since 1946, and was a functioning dairy farm until 1974. This is our history; let's see what the future brings!

2010 marks the first year of a new direction for Bernet Farms.  I could not stand to see the farm go unused, so in September of 2009,  I quit my "office job" and decided to try my hand at Farming. After a year of extensive cleaning, working on machinery and trying to figure out how to get plants to grow, my first crops are nearing maturity.  Pumpkins and Corn. Much more to come next year!   -Gary Bernet-
